Watchrod Ltd (Formally Design & Build) are the leading glass block company offering a complete service for Glass Blocks, Pavement Lights, Roof Lights and Entrance Units
Watchrod Ltd was first established in 1989, and this was followed by Watchrod (Design & Build) Ltd in 1992. Since then we have seen many changes in the construction industry, some for the good and many more not so good.
As specialist contractors starting a company during the last recession, we utilised our vast knowledge of the industry and carried out several projects for the Royal Household in Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle in the construction of their gift shops. This was closely followed with works at the request of the National Trust.

In early 1991 we were approached by one of the glass block manufacturers with a view to becoming one of their approved stockists and installers. Thus we became the agent for Vegla Sunfix glass blocks, which later became part of Solaris and was once owned by Saint Gobain Glass. This addition to our services complemented our shopfitting skills. Over the years we have installed several different manufacturers’ glass blocks, such as Pittsburgh Corning, Sunfix, Gerrix, Solaris and Weck. Names that have since been taken over by a new owner, Seves. In late 1996 we were approached by the David Lloyd Health Club chain to carry out all the glass block installations to their new centres and this was followed by many more companies approving Watchrod Ltd as their installers. |

To date, we have not only carried out the supply and installation of glass blocks, but have also manufactured Concrete Pavement Lights, Concrete Smoke Vents, Glazed Roof Lights, Entrance Units and Shopfitting
We are very proud to state that all the photographs we show on our web pages are of projects carried out by Watchrod Ltd & Watchrod (Design & Build) Ltd’s own skilled installers, using knowledge gained over a period of more than 20 years.
